My tendency to post on the blog after not having blogged in forever is to try to catch up and post past pics that I've been meaning to post. But I'm not going to even try to catch up this time. I think I'll overwhelm myself doing so. So I'm just going to post my favorite pictures and moments as often as I possibly can. Or as often as my children will allow me to do so from now on.
Nothing really new today. But I wanted to jot down 10 of the most random things that have happened as of lately.
1. This year has been hard. Baby number 4 took it's toll on my mental and physical health and I'm just barely beginning to feel better.
2. Edison Kale is a little guy but so full of tenderness and joy. We call him Houdini now. Why? Well, he's suffered from pretty bad Eczema and hives type rashes. In order to prevent him from scratching when we're not awake with him, he's been swaddled pretty tightly into his 10 months of life. Less now. But at night he is still swaddled. But no matter how hard we pin him up, he always manages to get out. I hate putting him in the swaddle anymore but Alex is so sweet and supportive and always reminding me that he will grow stronger from this adversity. He's probably had so much resistance training that about a month ago, Edison broke out of his carseat. Not sure how that happened because he was strapped in pretty tight. But like I said, he must be the next Houdini. Thankfully, we don't have to swaddle him as much as we used to. But he's quite strong for his size, which is rather small.
3. Hinckley has potty trained faster than Chrysalis. Chrysalis is great throughout the day but still has night time accidents. Her younger brother is fully potty trained. He gets up at night to go potty if he has to. It's a wonderful thing for me NOT to have to deal with so many diapers anymore.
4. Both Chrysalis and Hinckley are memorizing words together now. Guess boys are faster. At least in our family. But we are super grateful to have come across the Your Baby Can Read program. It makes reading a piece of cake. Chrysalis is picking things up quickly now that she's developed some interest in reading.
5. Orion loves reading Roald Dahl books lately. He makes his own scrambled eggs and does dishes now. My little slave. I love it! But truly, he is the most helpful big brother and I'm grateful he is part of this family.
6. Alex and I both run around like lunatics from one city to another with this job. But we meet all sorts of interesting people along the way. We attended a Baptist church for the first time out here in Baltimore where we are for the summer and it was quite the experience. We love the vintage museums and tourist sites. It really makes you feel connected to history to explore these beautiful cities and towns.
7. We've decided we want to have a land to farm on and grow huge fruit orchards in.
8. Hopefully a house is in the near future. I really want to finally settle into our own home.
9. Though I struggle to run a business, I love sharing doTerra oils still. I will continue to do so even though I'm not a good business owner, because I really believe in the power of nature's medicine.
10. I've decided I miss being an irresponsible child with no worries. I miss my Mom and Dad. They are a light to my children and I can't wait to be near them again so that the kiddos can play with the two adults that spoil them rotten.
